Less than a third of voters approve of Attorney General William Barr’s handling of special counsel Robert Mueller’s report, according to a new poll published Wednesday.

Mr. Barr received 29 percent approval from voters, with 39 percent disapproving of his actions and 32 percent saying they have no opinion, according to a Politico/Morning Consult poll.

The vote mostly fell along party lines, with 56 percent of Republicans saying Mr. Barr was attempting to inform the public, while 58 percent of Democrats said he was working for President Trump.

Mr. Barr canceled his testimony Wednesday after it was announced that the House Judiciary Committee’s staff counsel would question the attorney general instead of the representatives.

Chairmen Rep. Jerry Nadler said the committee will move forward with a vote Wednesday on whether to hold Mr. Barr in contempt of Congress.

Assistant Attorney General Stephen Boyd late Tuesday night sent a letter to Mr. Nadler threatening to invoke executive privilege over all of the documents the Judiciary Committee has requested.
