NEWARK, N.J. (AP) - Authorities say a street shooting in New Jersey’s largest city has left one man dead and another wounded.

Essex County prosecutors say the shooting in Newark occurred around 7 p.m. Monday in the area of Maple Avenue.

Forty-year-old Murad Harris, of Irvington, was pronounced dead early Tuesday. The other man, whose name was not released, was shot in the leg and was hospitalized in stable condition.



No arrests have been made. A motive for the shooting remains under investigation.

Further details about the shooting, including what type of weapon was used, have not been disclosed.
