BOSTON (AP) - Police say a woman suffered minor injuries when she was struck by bricks that fell from the facade of a residential building in Boston.

The woman was taken to the hospital with what police described as back injuries after being struck at about 8:20 p.m. Wednesday in the city’s South End. Her name wasn’t made public.

WFXT-TV reports that it appears that a dozen to 15 standard red bricks as well as some masonry became dislodged from above a second-floor window.

Police blocked off the sidewalk and residents were allowed to stay in the building.

The Boston Inspectional Services Department is investigating.
