WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (AP) - Police in Florida say a would-be robber was killed with his own gun in a scuffle with an intended victim.
News outlets report 30-year-old Caidret Javon Leonard was killed in the Saturday fight in West Palm Beach. City police say two men were sitting in a parked car that night when they were approached by an armed person who attempted to rob them.
Police spokesman Sgt. David Lefont says that’s when one of the intended victims fought with the gunman, snatching away the weapon from the man and fatally shooting him. Authorities didn’t immediately release the identities of the two intended victims.
An investigation is ongoing.
