PATERSON, N.J. (AP) - A street shooting in northern New Jersey has left one man dead and another hospitalized.
Passaic County prosecutors say police responding to reports of shots fired around 4 a.m. Sunday in Paterson found 36-year-old Rajahn Alston and 35-year-old Jason Frierson had both been wounded.
The two city men were taken to a hospital, but Alston was pronounced dead there a short time later. Frierson remained hospitalized Monday in stable condition.
Authorities say a motive for the shooting remains under investigation.
It’s not clear how many shooters may have been involved or what type of weapon was used.
