MIDDLETOWN, Conn. (AP) - Connecticut State Police say they responded to 424 traffic accidents during the holiday weekend, a huge spike over the previous Labor Day weekend.

Police say of those 424 accidents in the four-day period from Friday until Monday, 51 involved injury and one was fatal.
