ANALYSIS/OPINION:

I’m thrilled that President Trump has found a creative solution in diverting $3.6 billion in military contracts to pay for 175 miles of his proposed wall (“Trump says border wall being built ‘very rapidly,’” Web, Sept. 4). The wall will defend America from an unrelenting illegal immigration invasion, as well as human and drug trafficking, and the threat of terrorism.

As I see it, the U.S. military’s primary job is to defend America from harm. Aside from the entire Democratic presidential field, who are for open borders that allow these scourges to infest our great country, what actual patriotic citizen would object to this diversion of funds to defend America?

Mr. Trump rigorously campaigned on this wall and he’s using every trick in the book to fund it, despite massive political opposition. So when it’s finally completed, I recommend naming the wall after its chief advocate and calling it the Donald J. Trump Make-America-Great-Again Wall.
