PEORIA, Ariz. (AP) - A Peoria police officer has been arrested in Surprise in a domestic violence incident, authorities said Wednesday..

Police said 35-year-old Kevin Moe has been placed on administrative leave.

Moe was booked into jail early Wednesday on suspicion of aggravated assault and disorderly conduct-fighting charges.

Court documents show Moe argued with the female victim at their house in Surprise and he allegedly pushed the woman to the floor, causing her to suffer a broken left arm.

Police said Moe told officers he pushed the victim because she was throwing items around the kitchen.

The Surprise Police Department is handling the criminal investigation while the Peoria Police Department has begun an internal investigation.

It was unclear Wednesday afternoon if Moe has a lawyer yet.
