WICHITA, Kan. (AP) - Kansas police are investigating after an 18-year-old woman was fatally shot in Wichita early Monday morning.

Wichita police told KSNW-TV that an 18-year-old man was driving Wichita resident Aubrey Resendez and another passenger, a 27-year-old man, when they got into a disturbance with people in a silver truck, the Wichita television station reported.

Someone in the truck fired multiple shots at the car and hit Resendez, according to police.

The driver and the other passenger were not hurt, but Resendez was taken to a hospital and later died.

Police said the shooting was not random.
