CENTRAL FALLS, R.I. (AP) - Authorities in Rhode Island have released the names of the two people found shot to death in a car in Providence last week.
Hailey K. Bennett and Ostwald “Danny” Sanchez were found Friday night by an Amtrak worker in a car parked on train tracks on Harris Avenue, police said Monday.
Both victims had been shot, Maj. David Lapatin said.
Although the bodies were found in Providence, surveillance evidence determined that the victims had been killed in Central Falls and driven to Providence.
Jose Diaz Marmolejos faces two counts of first-degree murder in the killings, police said. He was held without bail and did not enter a plea at a court hearing Monday. No defense attorney was listed in online court records.
Police have not released any information about a motive or relationship between the suspect and the victims.
