PHOENIX (AP) - A man has been arrested for allegedly driving impaired and getting into a crash that killed a motorcycle rider, according to Phoenix police.

They said 23-year-old Martez Lyle Begay has been booked into jail on suspicion of manslaughter.

Court documents show Begay failed a field sobriety test after Wednesday night’s crash and a breath test showed he had a blood-alcohol level of 0.195, well over Arizona’s legal limit for drivers.

It was unclear Thursday if Begay has a lawyer yet.

Police said the pickup truck Begay was driving collided with a female motorcyclist as he prepared to turn onto a private drive.

The 30-year-old woman was taken to a hospital, where police said she died from her injuries.

Her name wasn’t immediately released.

Police said Begay wasn’t injured in the crash, but showed signs of impairment and was arrested at the scene.
