BURIEN, Wash. (AP) - A 13-year-old was arrested in the fatal shooting of a 35-year-old man as he was walking in the suburb of Burien last week, according to court documents.
Hassan Ali Hassan was shot in the back of the head Tuesday and died two days later at Harboview Medical Center, according to court documents. A 9 mm shell casing was found nearby, KING-TV reported.
After the shooting, the teen ran to a friend’s home, showed the gun and asked to be let in, but fled when his friend went to talk to his family, according to court documents.
The teen had been living at his ex-girlfriend’s house and the girl’s mother told police the teen had not been seen since Tuesday, court documents said. She also discovered that her 9 mm handgun was missing.
The teen was arrested on April 24 in Renton. According to court documents, he admitted to the shooting and did it because “he was depressed and felt like if he didn’t kill someone he would kill himself and because he ‘just felt like doing it.’”
