SAINT PETERSBURG, Pa. (AP) - The shooting deaths of a young couple over the weekend are being investigated as an apparent murder-suicide authorities said.
Police in western Clarion County believe that Lexis Walker, 19, and Jeremiah Heller, 22, died early Sunday evening, the Butler Eagle reported.
Family members reported finding the couple dead with gunshot wounds in their Saint Petersburg apartment. Authorities said a pistol was also found and there were two spent casings between the bodies.
Police said they believe they know who the shooter was, but declined to elaborate, citing the ongoing investigation. No autopsies were planned, police said
Walker, formerly of Allegheny Township in northern Butler County, was a senior at Allegheny-Clarion Valley High School. District Superintendent David McDeavitt called it “is truly devastating news” and said grief counselors would be available this week to speak with students by telephone or web conferencing.
