HIGHGATE, Vt. (AP) - A woman walking her dog in Vermont was struck and killed by a driver Thursday morning, police said.
The driver hit Wendy Lambert, 63, at an intersection in Highgate and then took off, according to police.
Officers stopped the suspect in St. Albans and arrested him. Regon Lowe, 21, of Colchester, reportedly told officers he hit Lambert and drove off. Police said Lowe’s rear bumper and license plate were left at the scene of the crash.
It was not known if Lowe was being represented by an attorney who could comment on his behalf.
