ELKO, Nev. (AP) - A judge in Elko County has ordered a Spring Creek man to stand trial in the killing and sexual assault of a 16-year-old girl last month.

Bruce Dickey, 18, is accused of killing Gabrielle “Britney” Ujlaky. Her body was found in a remote area between Elko and Spring Creek three days after she was reported missing on March 8.

Justice of the Peace Mason Simons determined a two-day preliminary hearing in Elko Justice Court produced the “slight or marginal evidence” necessary to bound Dickey over to district court for arraignment, the Elko Daily Free Press reported Wednesday. The date hasn’t been set.

Dr. Julie Schrader, assistant medical examiner at the Washoe County Regional Medical Examiner’s Office, testified Ujalky died from a stab wound to the neck and strangulation by homicide.

Dickey was ordered to remain jailed without bail charges of open murder with the use of deadly weapon, or alternatively, felony murder during sexual assault or attempted sexual assault with use of a deadly weapon

District Attorney Tyler Ingram has the option to impose the death penalty if Dickey is convicted.
