APACHE JUNCTION, Ariz. (AP) - A 77-year-old woman with dementia who was reported missing after wandering from her Apache Junction home has been found dead, police said.

They said a woman’s body was located Sunday afternoon in Apache Junction less than a mile from her home. The body was later positively identified as that of Cheryl Beeter.

The woman was reported missing about 11 a.m. Saturday after she wandered from her home.



Police said the cause of death isn’t immediately known, but they don’t believe it was heat related.
