Major League Baseball rescheduled a series of games postponed because of the coronavirus outbreak in the league, including Washington’s three-game series against Miami Marlins.
The Nationals will now make up the series across three separate seven-inning doubleheaders, set to take place on Aug. 22, Sept. 18 and Sept. 20. The league and the player’s union last month agreed to seven-inning doubleheaders for the 2020 season.
The Nationals were originally set to play the Marlins last weekend until more than a dozen Marlins tested positive for the virus. In all, six teams were in limbo because of the fallout.
For the Aug. 22 meeting, the games will be played at Nationals Park with the Nationals appearing as the home team in Game 1 and the Marlins the home team in Game 2.
The Sept. 18 and Sept. 20 doubleheaders will take place in Miami.
