CHANDLER, Ariz. (AP) - The manager of a Cox Communications store in Chandler is facing felony theft charges after being arrested on suspicion of embezzlement, police said Wednesday.
They said Placido Vasquez allegedly stole about $68,000 between July 2018 and April 2020.
Police launched an investigation at Cox’s request in late June and Vazquez was arrested on Nov. 22.
As the store manager, Vasquez allegedly manipulated computer entry payments by customers showing they paid, according to police.
Investigators said Vazquez allegedly stole the money and used it for personal expenses.
It was unclear Wednesday if Vazquez has a lawyer yet for his case.
