LANDOVER — Washington running back Antonio Gibson will miss his second straight game Sunday with a turf toe injury.
Gibson returned to practice Friday, but was listed as doubtful for Sunday’s game against the Seattle Seahawks. The third-rounder, who got hurt in Washington’s over the Pittsburgh Steelers earlier this month, was limited to individual drills on Friday.
Elsewhere, three quarterbacks are active for Washington after the team previously ruled out Alex Smith (calf). Second year quarterback Dwayne Haskins will start, though Taylor Heinicke and Steven Montez are both suited up. Coach Ron Rivera has not revealed who is the backup behind Haskins. The team signed Heinicke to the 53-man roster and promoted Montez from the practice squad on Saturday.
Washington will also be without linebackers Cole Holcomb (concussion) and Kevin Pierre-Louis (ankle). Shaun Dion Hamilton will start ahead of Pierre-Louis, while Thomas Davis Sr. will start in place of Holcomb.
Here’s the full list of inactives for Washington:
- Quarterback Alex Smith (calf)
- Running back Antonio Gibson (toe)
- Running back Lamar Miller
- Linebacker Kevin Pierre-Louis (ankle)
- Linebacker Cole Holcomb (concussion)
- Tackle David Steinmetz
