TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) - One of two people injured in a fire at a Topeka house has died, fire officials said Monday.
Kristen Edmonston, 53, died from injuries she suffered in Saturday’s fire, Deputy Fire Chief Kelly Adams said in a news release. James Edmonston, 65, remained hospitalized Monday in stable condition.
The fire appeared to be accidental, with improper handling of smoking materials the likely case, Adams said.
