MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred has warned players there will be punishment for any retaliation aimed at the Houston Astros by those upset with the team’s sign-stealing scandal.

But that hasn’t stopped many from openly discussing it.

On Tuesday, Atlanta Braves outfielder Nick Markakis piled on, saying the Astros deserve “a beating” after players went unpunished for their roles in the cheating scandal.

Speaking to reporters, Markakis blasted Manfred for the lack of punishment.

“Every single guy over there needs a beating,” Markakis said of the Astros

Markakis said the Astros‘ actions were “damaging to baseball,” adding he was angry with them.

“I think they got off pretty easy,” he said. “They’re gonna be able to go out there and compete with no ramifications at all, which is wrong. And I think the commissioner completely handled it the wrong way. But you know, that’s the way he did it and that’s the way we gotta live with it. But I know a lot of people disagree with him and the way he handled this situation, he should be embarrassed of himself.”
