CREVE COEUR, Mo. (AP) - A pedestrian was hit and killed hit by a vehicle on Interstate 270 in the St. Louis suburb of Creve Coeur, according the Missouri Highway Patrol.

The incident happened around 9 p.m. Friday near the Ladue Road exit, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported. Trooper Dallas Thompson said that the driver who hit the person did stop at the scene.

Creve Coeur police were first to arrive on the scene, but requested that the highway patrol investigate. Authorities had not yet released the name of the person killed by mid-afternoon Saturday.
