CONCORD, N.H. (AP) - The New Hampshire attorney general’s office said Monday it is not opposing the proposed acquisition of Frisbie Memorial Hospital in Rochester by a subsidiary of the Hospital Corporation of America.

The 88-bed Frisbie Hospital provides inpatient and outpatient services to over 100,000 people in the Seacoast region.

In New Hampshire, HCA owns Portsmouth Regional Hospital, a 220-bed hospital with a level II trauma center, and Parkland Medical Center in Derry.

The review of the proposed acquisition was conducted by the attorney general office’s Charitable Trusts Unit and Consumer Protection and Antitrust Bureau.

Approval by the probate division of the New Hampshire Circuit Court is required before the transaction can be closed. A hearing is scheduled on Wednesday in Dover.
