HOLLYWOOD, Fla. (AP) - Florida authorities arrested a man on murder charges late Monday after fatally stabbing his father multiple times during a struggle.

Hollywood police were responding to a domestic violence call when they spotted the suspect fleeing the scene in a red Camaro.

A high-speed chase ensued along the Florida Turnpike through Broward and Miami-Dade counties, ending when the suspect’s vehicle spun out of control.

The suspect, identified by police as 24-year-old Jamal Hall, was arrested without further incident. He was taken to Broward County’s main jail, where he was booked on a charge of first-degree murder.

The suspect’s father, Malik Ali Hall, 49, was stabbed multiple times, police said. Emergency crews rendered aid, but he died at the scene.

A motive for the slaying was not immediately known, police said.
