PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - Rhode Islanders hoping to catch President Trump’s impeachment trial live and in person can request tickets from one of their Congress members.
Democratic U.S. Sen. Jack Reed is making tickets to the Senate trial that opens Tuesday in Washington, D.C. available to Rhode Islanders.
His office says it will make all three public gallery seats it is allotted for each day of the trial available.

Rhode Islanders must request a ticket through Reed’s office. If selected, they’ll be notified and have to provide a valid identification to pick up the tickets, which expire daily and are non-transferable.
Gallery passes are also available on a first-come, first-served basis from any Senate office, but Reed’s office says admission into the visitor’s gallery with those passes is not guaranteed and could come with lengthy wait times.
The U.S. Senate is holding open 30 seats in the 596-seat gallery for gallery pass holders.
The impeachment trial is expected to open in earnest Tuesday afternoon with opening arguments.
It is expected to run six days a week, Monday through Saturday, with each day’s proceedings running from about 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.
