RINDGE, N.H. (AP) - A store clerk was stabbed during a convenience store robbery and fired at the assailants as they fled the store, police said.

The robbers, one armed with a gun and the other with a knife, entered the store wearing masks, jumped on the counter and attacked the clerk, stabbing him in the abdomen, Rindge police said.

The clerk fired at the robbers as they fled Friday night, but they made off with an undisclosed amount of cash, police said.

The clerk has been released from a hospital. It’s unclear if either of the assailants was hit by gunfire, Sgt. Rachel Malynowski told WMUR-TV.
