HALETHORPE, Md. (AP) — A 14-year-old boy who was admitted to a Baltimore County hospital with life-threatening stab wounds is recovering.

The teenager was riding his bike outside of a Halethorpe shopping center on Friday night when he got into an argument with at least one other person, Baltimore County Police Department spokeswoman Jennifer Peach said. The boy was stabbed with an unknown object and the suspects escaped before police arrived, Peach added. A weapon wasn’t recovered from the scene.

The boy was admitted in critical condition on Friday night, but police told news outlets over the weekend that his condition “appears to be improving.”

Baltimore County police analyzed surveillance video taken nearby and determined the suspect was an adult male, WJZ-TV reported. The agency hasn’t made any arrests.
