MAUSTON, Wis. (AP) - A Mauston man is accused of abandoning his young son in the back of his car as he fled from deputies on foot.
Juneau County sheriff’s deputy attempted to stop Aaron Barth who was wanted on numerous felony warrants Dec. 18, authorities said.
pr. A criminal complaint says that after pulling over, Barth jumped out and started running. The deputy and the Mauston police chief chased Barth and eventually arrested him.
When they got back to his car, which was still running, they found Barth’s 5-year-old son in the back seat.
The State Journal says Barth is facing additional felony charges, including child abandonment. Court records say a public defender will be appointed for Barth.
