READING, Pa. (AP) - A woman has been sentenced to 17 1/2 to 40 years in prison in the death of her 6-month-old daughter who was found dead in a storage container in a crawl space in their eastern Pennsylvania home.
The Reading Eagle reports that 29-year-old Samantha Trump of Spring Township was sentenced Wednesday in Berks County Court.
Trump pleaded no contest in February to third-degree murder and concealing the death of a child. In a no-contest plea, a defendant doesn’t admit guilt but acknowledges that prosecutors have enough evidence to prove their case.

Authorities said Harper Trump’s body was found in March 2018 in a trash bag in a plastic container filled with cat litter. An autopsy concluded Harper died around Jan. 1 of that year from blunt-force head trauma and she also had rib fractures.
The child’s father, 27-year-old Shaun Oxenreider, was also charged but has denied having any involvement in the injuries.
