ST. LOUIS (AP) - A St. Louis County man is facing a federal indictment for a fatal carjacking in 2019.

The U.S. Attorney’s office in St. Louis on Wednesday announced the indictment of 28-year-old Anthony D. Jones Jr. of Bridgeton on charges that include carjacking, discharge of a firearm resulting in death and witness tampering.

Jessica Vinson was killed during a carjacking on May 4, 2019, in the city of St. Louis. Federal prosecutors also accused Jones of sending threatening messages to two witnesses.

Jones is already in jail, awaiting trial for allegedly shooting at someone and injuring a child, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported.
