PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - Two men who were shot in Rhode Island are being treated in hospitals, police said.

A 17-year-old male and 20-year-old Jonsue Rivera Lopez were shot in Providence late Friday, said Cmdr. Thomas Verdi. Both live in Providence.

Police were called to Hasbro Children’s Hospital, where officers found the two already inside and being treated for gunshot wounds, Verdi said. Officers found a car running in the hospital’s parking lot, which was then towed.

Police also responded to a neighborhood about 5 minutes from the hospital where they found shell casings.

The 17-year-old was in serious condition at Hasbro. Lopez was transferred to Rhode Island Hospital, where he had more serious injuries, police said.
