TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - A man described as a suspect by the Pima County Sheriff’s Department was fatally shot by at least one sheriff’s detective, authorities said Tuesday.

Sheriff’s officials said the shooting occurred about 5 p.m. Monday on the northwest side of metro Tucson after detectives contacted a suspect and began chasing him on foot.

The suspect died at the scene and was identified Tuesday as 55-year-old Marvin O’Reilly.



No other information was immediately released about the suspect or why detectives had reason to encounter him.
