MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell has welcomed his critics with open arms because he says their vitriol only shines a light on the “amazing job that our president’s doing.”
The Minnesota businessman told radio host Glenn Beck on Tuesday that reactions to his comments in the Rose Garden were an eye-opener, although he’s eager to speak to hostile media outlets about his support for President Trump.
Mr. Lindell made national headlines both for using his company to provide tens of thousands of masks to help protect Americans from coronavirus, but also for his clarion call for citizens to turn to traditional values.
“I encourage you to use this time at home to get back in the Word, read our Bible and spend time with our families,” the entrepreneur said Monday.
He told Mr. Beck that he was up until 3 a.m. reading hundreds of text messages and visiting news outlets that were talking about him.
“I didn’t think it’d be an attack like that,” he said. “I really didn’t. … I went to the bad media sites and seen what was trying to be put out there. And Glenn, one thing I want to say is, I thank everyone out there, even from both sides because so many people that were on the side, even the media that’s saying these horrible things, there are people over there going, ‘You know what? … He wasn’t selling anything. What’s wrong with being home with your families?’ And, ‘That’s just his opinion.’”
Mr. Lindell said he then spent one-on-one time with the president.
He told Mr. Trump that regular press briefings are “so good because people are seeing who you really are, they’re seeing your heart.”
“This is what’s happening,” the CEO continued. “I think people are gonna quit being brainwashed by this horrible, crazy media — and they know who they are — and the public is going to see this amazing job that our president’s doing.”
