GREENWICH TOWNSHIP, N.J. (AP) - A woman was found shot and wounded early Tuesday when state police responded to a car stopped along an interstate highway in northwestern New Jersey.
The woman, whose name was not released, was found shortly before 6 a.m. inside the car on Interstate 78 eastbound, near an exit ramp for Greenwich Township in Warren County. She had been shot multiple times by someone armed with a shotgun, authorities said.
The woman was flown to a hospital, but further details on her condition were not disclosed. A motive for the shooting remains under investigation, and no other injuries were reported.
The shooting is under investigation by the state police’s major crimes unit. No arrests have been made.
