STOWE, Vt. (AP) - It might have been snowing in parts of Vermont two days ago, but Vermonters can take heart with a sure sign that warm weather is coming.
Smugglers Notch between Stowe and Cambridge is open to traffic. The Vermont Agency of Transportation tweeted Thursday that the the road, known officially as Vermont Route 108, is clear.
The narrow, winding stretch of road is not plowed during the winter and its closure in the fall and reopening in the spring helps mark the turning of the seasons.
