BALTIMORE (AP) — A Baltimore SWAT officer accused of child sex abuse now faces charges of possession of child pornography, authorities said.

A Harford County grand jury added 10 counts of child pornography possession to the child sex abuse case against Donald P. Hildebrandt, 50, The Baltimore Sun reported Wednesday. State’s Attorney Albert Peisinger confirmed that the indictment was returned on Tuesday.

Last month, Hildebrandt was charged with four counts, including sex abuse of a minor, third-degree sex offense and second-degree assault, The offense date was listed as Oct. 16 and charges were filed on Oct. 21.

Hildebrandt had been released on $30,000 personal property bond, but was taken into custody on the new charges. A detention hearing was expected for this week.

The Baltimore Police Department said at the time of the initial charges that Hildebrandt had been suspended without pay. He has been a police officer since 2006, according to the department.



His defense attorney could not immediately be reached for comment, the newspaper reported.
