Stevie Wonder, a Joseph R. Biden supporter, says the Democratic presidential nominee is the man who will make reparations for slavery happen if President Trump is defeated.

The iconic “Superstition” singer told Michiganders over the weekend that only by voting for the former vice president could “the fight against injustice” possibly be won.

“I’ll tell you what you could do better than a [‘Juneteenth holiday’],” Mr. Wonder said Saturday before a Detroit audience. “I know Joe Biden will do it. Give us reparations.”

The crowd, many in vehicles in an attempt to social distance, honked their horns in approval.

The singer added that paying Black Americans is the right thing to do “for the work we’ve all done over the past 400 years — unpaid.”

“We must vote justice in and injustice out,” he added.

Mr. Wonder also contributed to a MeidasTouch ad released Monday, which encourages citizens to vote.

“Vote like you know that Biden and [Sen. Kamala D.] Harris are the only choice for a chance to bring this country back together,” he says. “Put the future in your hands, not in the hands of fate.”
