The Cowboys have relied on a rotating cast of offensive linemen all year, but the start to Thursday’s matchup with the Washington Football Team exacerbated issues.

First, left tackle Cam Erving left the game with a knee injury, and his return is questionable. Then a few plays later, right tackle Zack Martin stayed down and walked gingerly to the locker room. Martin, who recently shifted from guard to tackle, had almost immediately been ruled out for the rest of the contest.

Dallas entered Thursday’s game having used six different offensive line combinations, but the Cowboys were set to utilize the same grouping for the second week in a row. Last week, that line showed promise, too, giving up one sack while allowing the running backs to break out for 180 yards against the Vikings.

Injuries have played a large part in that reshuffle; right tackle La’el Collins required hip surgery and never played a snap, while left tackle Tyron Smith underwent neck surgery.

The litany of injuries can be maddening, and it forced Fox Sports personality Skip Bayless to lose his cool on Twitter.

Perhaps the latest losses to the offensive line will help Chase Young and Washington’s pass rush get after quarterback Andy Dalton.
