CONCORD, N.H. (AP) - Sen. Chuck Morse of Salem is poised to take back the gavel at the Statehouse.
Republicans in the Senate are unanimously backing Morse as Senate president, a position he held for five years before Democrats took control of the Legislature in 2018.
With Tuesday’s election, control of the Senate flipped from a 14-10 Democratic majority to a 14-10 GOP advantage.
Republicans also won a majority in the House. At least two have said they will run for speaker: Rep. Dick Hinch, of Merrimack, who has been minority leader for the last two years, and Rep. Al Baldasaro of Londonderry.
