LANDOVER — Washington defensive end Chase Young is active for Sunday’s game against the Los Angeles Rams after missing last week with a groin injury.
The rookie was listed as questionable on Friday, but had been a limited participant in practice throughout the week. Young first hurt his groin in a Week 3 loss to the Cleveland Browns and missed Washington’s following game against the Baltimore Ravens.
Young, the second overall pick in the draft, has had a strong start to the season with 2 1/2 sacks and a forced fumble. Washington’s defense ranks fourth overall in defensive DVOA, a Football Outsiders metric that measures efficiency.
Chase Roullier (knee) and Wes Schweitzer (elbow) are also active for Washington — a big boost to the interior of the offensive line as they try to stop the Rams’ Aaron Donald.
Here’s who is inactive for Washington;
- quarterback Dwayne Haskins (illness)
- tight end Marcus Baugh (death in the family)
- cornerback Greg Stroman (foot)
- linebacker Cole Holcomb (knee)
- linebacker Jared Norris
- tackle Saahdiq Charles.
