KANSAS CITY, Kan. (AP) - A man was fatally stabbed and another person arrested in the death following a police chase, authorities in Kansas City, Kansas, said.

The incident happened Saturday morning, when officers were called to investigate a report of a suspicious person, the Kansas City Star reported. Arriving officers found a man in the grass suffering from stab wounds. He was taken to a hospital where he later died.

A suspect fled the scene and was arrested after a car chase that involved the Kansas Highway Patrol, police said. Authorities have not released the names of the victim or the person arrested.



The stabbing was the 41st homicide in Kansas City, Kansas, this year, according to data kept by the Kansas City Star. That compared with 23 homicides by the same time last year.
