NEWARK. N.J. (AP) - A crash in New Jersey’s largest city killed an 11 year-old girl and two adults and left five other people injured, authorities said.

The crash in Newark occurred around 7 p.m. Sunday in the area of Central Avenue and Broad Street, according to the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office. One vehicle struck another another, causing the latter car to collide with a third vehicle.

Rosa Lojalema, 35, who was driving the first vehicle, and two of her passengers - Elba Galarza, 77, of Glen Ridge, and Clarise Pizcha, 11 - all died from their injuries. Two other passengers in that car and three people in the second car were injured, while no one in the third car was hurt.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation, and authorities said no charge have been filed so far.
