American Jews are overwhelmingly liberal, and many take great pride in supporting political positions that are often inimical to their interests as Jews, both at home and in Israel. It is as though they believe sticking pins into effigies of themselves will win principled friends among those liberals who disdain their friendship.

Anti-Semitism has surged in Democratic environs recently, even being heard from the lips of a congresswoman elected in 2018. As anti-Semitism begins to shade the proud Democratic Party of yore, the elders of this liberal fellowship have a responsibility to stem this latest spasm of bias before the coefficient of hatred becomes genocidal, especially to Jews in Israel. And yet we see no action on that score.

Democrats know that the majority of Jewish voters in America will not abandon their presidential nominee in 2020, especially as President Trump’s avid support of Israel embarrasses them.
