ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) - An Albany-area man was arrested Tuesday on federal charges of participating in the riot at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6.

William Tryon made an appearance in federal court in Albany on three misdemeanor charges hours after the FBI’s Albany office announced they had arrested the Selkirk resident.

Tryon faces charges in Washington D.C. of knowingly entering or remaining in a restricted building or grounds without lawful authority, knowingly engaging in disorderly or disruptive conduct in a restricted building or grounds and violent entry and disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds.

He was released after the hearing.

Tryon has been involved in pro-police rallies in the Albany area, according to WAMC public radio.

Tryon‘s lawyer did not immediately respond to an email seeking comment.
