I applaud you for the information you provide in Marc Short’s “Raising taxes will destroy jobs” (Web, Sept. 8). I agree that taxes should not be raised. Throughout the past few years, the government has provided funds to people in need. Unfortunately, that is now all they are relying on.

Instead of raising taxes across the board, I would suggest that people who make over $300,000 pay more taxes than the ones who make less than $100,000. I understand that the economy is adjusting but raising taxes on everyone is not the right way to go. What ordinary citizen will be able to pay higher taxes? Who would be hirt in the long run?
