OPINION:
A recently elected member of Congress, New York Republican George Santos, inflated his resume, falsely stating that he had graduated from college and worked for two large, well-known corporations (“N.Y. Rep.-elect George Santos admits lying about career, college,” Web, Dec. 26). The Democrats, so offended by this conduct, have demanded that Mr. Santos be removed from office.
The guy lied on his resume, for crying out loud. Hurray for the Democrats. Oh, what’s that, you say? One of the two Democratic senators from Connecticut, Richard Blumenthal, also lied on his resume, falsely claiming to have served in Vietnam? So those Democrats who are so angry at Mr. Santos that they are demanding his removal from office must certainly be making the same demand of Mr. Blumenthal, right? Nope.
Personally, I don’t much like anyone lying to me, especially a politician, but lying to voters seems to have become the norm, especially on the political left. Democratic politicians lie and the mainstream media reinforce the lie so that the suckers who only get their news from CNN and MSNBC et al. believe the lies. That’s why we are in so much darn trouble today.
