The Pelosi-contrived, partisan Jan. 6 hearings have ended and an anti-Trump report will soon be delivered (“Rep. Adam Schiff denies reported rift within Jan. 6 committee,” Web, Nov. 27).

Perhaps reflecting on this issue with the facts can establish who was responsible for wasting taxpayer dollars and causing injuries to
protesters, police officers and others. Also very important is the death of Ashli Babbitt, an unarmed military veteran who posed no real threat and was shot by a Capitol Police officer, leaving her husband and family to grieve.

Mrs. Pelosi was aware before the Jan. 6 Trump rally that former President Donald Trump had requested up to 20,000 National Guard troops to be present on that day. Both Mrs. Pelosi and D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser rejected the request, which would have prevented the ensuing protest actions at the Capitol.

The injuries incurred and the death of Mrs. Babbitt will be the legacies of Nancy Pelosi and all members of the House Jan. 6
hearings, because they knew these facts before embarking on their anti-Trump agenda.
