LANDOVER — The new Washington Commanders mascot will either be a dog or a hog.

During the first quarter of their home game versus the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, the Commanders announced on the video board that fans now get to choose between the two options for the franchise’s next mascot.

As part of the Commanders rebrand, the team had originally held a vote between four options on its website: hog, dog, historical figure and superhero.

But the unnamed historical figure and superhero are no longer options. Fans can still vote on the team website.

The mascot will be revealed on Jan. 1 during Washington’s game against the Cleveland Browns at FedEx Field.
