OPINION:
A new fear is emerging within the conscience of our political leadership and the American people: the fear of self-preservation.
The threat from the unethical behavior of the Biden executive branch could motivate members of Congress to awaken to the reality that they may need to find the courage to put their differences aside for the good of the country.
This assembly of our leadership knows that both President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris must step down from office. While there are not enough members in Congress to vote for these impeachments, there is enough sanity within the ranks to realize the benefits of withdrawing support to motivate these two to resign.
It does not take a brilliant politician to realize the immense benefits of this action. Based on the precedent set by then-President Richard Nixon and Vice President Spiro Agnew, who were coerced into leaving their posts, both major political parties are capable of agreeing on a mature, experienced new president.
This would bode well for the Democrats’ hope of keeping the White House in 2024 and for the Republicans, who would be seen as the saviors in putting a stop to the continued destruction of our republic.
The American people would readily welcome Congress having the moral fortitude to make this unified decision.
