OPINION:
When Rome fell, Augustulus ruled as an ineffective and incompetent emperor prior to the Gothic monarchs assuming control. Before the republican values of duty and dignity were replaced by medieval barbarism and brutality, the last Roman ruler was the ancient manifestation of President Biden.
Neither Augustulus nor Mr. Biden holds any record of achievement. Both are remembered only for the downfall of their respective societies. Like Augustulus’ government, the corruption, elitism and globalism of the Biden administration perpetuates the lack of economic and individual empowerment now in our political and cultural life. Another four years of this decline will put our national existence in peril.
The decadence and depravity of our ruling class in the face of a shrinking middle class is also reminiscent of the Roman Empire. The Democrats will continue to legalize drugs and sexualize children, import unskilled labor from Central America’s Northern Triangle and surrender our sovereignty to dictatorship.
The Republicans will stop the degradation of our spiritual and family life, secure the southern border and punish crime, incentivize a renewal of American jobs and energy production and begin decoupling from China to restore true independence.
The American tale remains to be told. The next chapter must be written at the ballot box through the election of Donald Trump and Republicans in 2024. May the United States of America learn the lessons of history and steer our ship of state away from four more years of certain ruin.
